This is Fonte Souto’s flagship wine, named after the beautiful chestnut groves that lie close to the vineyards from which the grapes are sourced, namely the finest parcels of Alicante Bouschet and Syrah, which contribute virtually equal parts to the debut 2017 wine.
The low yields of these vines result in a concentrated, elegantly structured, precise wine that reflects the remarkable freshness provided by the property’s privileged higher altitude position on the slopes of the Serra de São Mamede, above the hotter and drier Alentejo plain.
